LifeSafety Power Partnership with PDK Provides Enclosures for ProdataKey Controllers

PHOENIX—LifeSafety Power (LSP), in partnership with ProdataKey (PDK), is building upon its legacy of integrating access control boards and power modules within single, preengineered enclosures.

LifeSafety Power has announced a new FlexPower technology alliance with ProdataKey (PDK), expanding its Unified Power Solutions with a streamlined enclosure designed to integrate ProdataKey controllers. PDK, a Draper, Utah-based manufacturer, is a provider of cloud-managed access control security management solutions.

According to LifeSafety Power, this new Unified Power Solution allows security integrators to take advantage of a single chassis engineered to coordinate electrical and mechanical integration, providing faster, time-saving installations, repeatable designs, and greater service efficiencies for PDK installations. Compatible with PDK.

Both manufacturers explain the PDK Red Series controllers can be connected to multiple LifeSafety Power FlexPower modules within access control power systems, controlling up to 32 doors.

The new enclosures incorporate a removable back plate controller wiring configuration and expansion slots to help facilitate easy installation of additional power distribution modules and components. The power company suggests the preconnected power section further saves configuration time and an AC disconnect point makes servicing straightforward.

LifeSafety Power offers the enclosures with options of single (12-volt or 24-volt DC) or dual voltage operation (12-volt and 24-volt DC), and the Arizona-based company stresses that each LSP output is protected against electrical surges caused by lightening or transients on the external wiring (SurgeShield). The company also notes the products’ control outputs are field-selectable for available DC voltages, either failsafe or fail secure operation with fire alarm interface.

Some of the other features the new PDK enclosures also offer include space for LifeSafety Power NetLink Network Connectivity modules for intelligent managed power. NetLink technology enables detailed power health reporting, remote troubleshooting and battery testing, email/SNMP alerts and other proactive and predictive data.

LifeSafety Power boasts the PDK Unified Power Solution joins the growing list of access control integrated power options. LifeSafety Power has over 17 OEM partnerships covering a wide range of component manufacturers.

Invented by LifeSafety Power in 2010, the FlexPower Unified Power is said to eliminate the use of three separate enclosures formerly deployed for access control installations. The company asserts FlexPower requires less wall space, wiring and only one AC drop, resulting in up to 50 percent space savings and as much as 40 percent installation savings.
