Both options combine open IP access control with video intercoms to simplify everything from installation and configuration, making it easy to find what’s best for you.

     The Axis Product Line — Offers IP door controllers perfect for retrofits or updating traditional setups. Axis IP intercoms can pass access control credentials over IP to the door controller. For scenarios with an existing reader, the OSDP or Wiegand reader can connect to the Axis door controller. Additionally, credential management can be done through AXIS Camera Station Secure Entry software or third-party solutions.

     2N IP Intercoms — Act as both a door controller and credential management software — all at the edge. They can support a variety of credentials from RFID to Bluetooth, plus door locks and sensors can be wired directly to the intercom.

In addition to the benefits and advantages of each individual product line, both solutions can leverage the camera in the intercom to view and record video with video management software (VMS) such as AXIS Camera Station or a third-party system.

Axis and 2N intercoms also support video calls to multiple endpoints in parallel or rollover, including phone apps, answering units, SIP phones and VMS. They are also able to release doors remotely.
