Security Sales & Integration: What kind of year has 2025 been for the electronic security and physical security industries? Scott Goldfine: It has been a very strong year for overall security growth and opportunities — particularly commercial projects and services involving video surveillance. There were greater challenges and hardships seen on the supplier side, due to the tariffs, as opposed to those experienced among monitoring and installation businesses. Acoem Revolutionizes Gunshot Detection with Single-Sensor Technology

Image
Acoem is transforming the gunshot detection market with its edge-based single-sensor ATD system , creating new high-margin opportunities for security integrators. In a recent interview, Tim English, managing director for Acoem ATD Technology, joined Dan Ferrisi, group director of content and editorial, industrial and tech at Emerald, to discuss how this innovative approach is making advanced security more accessible and effective. Unlike legacy systems that require multiple sensors to triangulate a gunshot’s location, Acoem’s technology does this with a single device. “ATD is unique because we do this with a single sensor,” English tells Ferrisi. “So we have a microphone array inside of a single sensor which can do the detection and the location onboard.” This design significantly reduces deployment complexity and cost, allowing integrators to strategically place sensors where they are most needed. This single-sensor approach opens up new markets, including temporary deployments ...

Neither a great attitude but subpar performance nor a poor attitude but exceptional performance will help you achieve your own personal goals or help your company achieve its goals. Incorporating this mantra into our culture and holding people accountable to it has helped us develop a great workplace. Ultimately, that culture helps us attract like-minded people that...
