Verkada Earns FedRAMP “In Progress” for Command in AWS GovCloud

SAN MATEO, Calif.—Verkada, a developer of AI-powered physical security technologies, has announced that it has achieved a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) ‘In Process’ designation for Verkada Command in AWS GovCloud.

The West Coast company states that together with its federal agency sponsor, the accredited third-party assessment organization (3PAO), Fortreum, a detailed security assessment will be held during second half of 2025.

“Verkada has transformed the ways that more than 33,000 organizations today keep their people and places safe with our cloud-based platform and AI-powered solutions,” says Jon Andersen, federal chief information security officer at Verkada. “We are eager to make this same impact in the federal government, and achieving FedRAMP ‘In Process’ is an important milestone in ensuring that Verkada’s secure, reliable, and compliant solutions are accessible to them.”

Verkada Command Platform Hosted in AWS GovCloud Meets FedRAMP “In Progress” Standards

Verkada explains that as federal agencies and their partners look to replace outdated, siloed systems and address increasingly complex threats to public servants, government assets, and critical infrastructure, Verkada’s government-grade offering provides a cloud-based solution that leverages its technologies in computer vision and AI while also adhering to regulatory standards and mandates.

The California company emphasizes that FedRAMP “In Progress” designation applies to its Command Platform in AWS GovCloud and solutions such as:

  • FIPS 140 Validated Cameras
  • Verkada Guest
  • FIPS 140 Validated Sensors
  • FIPS Validated Command Connector
  • Verkada Gateway

The company adds that its government-grade solutions are already accessible through major government procurement channels, including GSA Schedule, NASA SEWP V, ITES-SW2, Carahsoft, and many existing socioeconomic partner vehicles.
