dormakaba Acquires TANlock to Expand Data Center and Critical Infrastructure Offering

RUMLANG, Switzerland – dormakaba has acquired TANlock GmbH, a German provider of high-security access solutions for data centers and other critical infrastructure, according to a joint announcement.

This acquisition “strengthens dormakaba’s position in the data center markets by enhancing its offerings and driving further growth,” the announcement says.

Founded in 2018 and based in Georgensgmünd, Germany, TANlock GmbH specializes in high-security access solutions. With a team of about 30 employees, TANlock’s intelligent access control system “enhances server cabinet security with electromechanical rack locks, various authentication modules and IP readers.”

The system “integrates seamlessly into existing IT infrastructures, making it ideal for both retrofits and new installations,” according to the joint announcement. Scalable, future-proof and compatible with access control platforms beyond dormakaba, TANlock “offers a reliable and innovative solution for safeguarding critical infrastructure.”

Why dormakaba Acquired TANlock

With the acquisition, dormakaba “enhances its data center offering by integrating complementary products and solutions,” according to the joint announcement. It will “leverage its strong sales network and global market reach, focusing on the US market while also strengthening existing channels to accelerate growth.”

“We are delighted to welcome TANlock into our group,” says dormakaba CEO Till Reuter in the joint announcement. “This acquisition aligns perfectly with our global vertical market strategy for data centers. It will reinforce our offering within critical infrastructure and will provide attractive growth opportunities.”

The parties have agreed not to disclose further details and the financial terms of the transaction. dormakaba closed the acquisition of TANlock GmbH on July 1, 2025.
