Axis Communications Confirms Price Increases Coming June 1
CHELMSFORD, Mass. — Axis Communications confirmed it is planning to raise prices across its suite of video surveillance cameras and other product offerings on June 1.
“Like many businesses in today’s economic climate, we’ve made the difficult but necessary decision to adjust pricing in response to global economic and trade conditions,” says Chris Shanelaris, public relations manager, Americas, for Axis Communications, in a statement emailed to SSI.
“This step allows us to maintain the high level of innovation, quality and service our customers and partners rely on,” he says. “We’re committed to giving customers and integrators sufficient notice and are working with our channel to ensure a clear and smooth process.”
Axis Communications is, of course, not the only security industry manufacturer that will raise prices as a result of the effects of global tariffs being implemented by the U.S. government. Longtime alarm industry lawyer and “Legal Briefing” columnist Ken Kirschenbaum recently shared his advice on handling price increases, while group editor Dan Ferrisi talked to security industry leaders about their plans for handling the situation.
The topic also was part of a roundtable discussion at PSA TEC in the Denver area earlier this year and is likely to be a hot-button issue at industry events for the rest of this year.
