ELK Products Integrates ELK-7TS Touchscreen with E27 Alarm Engine

HICKORY, N.C.—ELK Products, a manufacturer of professional-grade security and automation products, has recently announced that its ELK-7TS 7-inch Touchscreen now works seamlessly with its E27 Alarm Engine and ElkConnect App products. The company points out that it first showcased the newly announced integration during the CEDIA Expo/CIX 2025 show in Denver, which concluded back on Sept. 6, 2025, and it says the sleek, high-resolution touchscreen is in stock and available through the ELK Products nationwide distribution network. According to the company, the ELK-7TS delivers modern, intuitive in-home control. ELK Products points out the touchscreen incorporates an HD display that includes capacitive touch capabilities, and a slim low-profile design. Man Arrested for Stealing $100K+ in Medical Equipment, Skin Grafts

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. — A 47-year-old Southern California man is behind bars after allegedly stealing more than $100,000 worth of surgical equipment and skin grafts from three different hospital thefts. The alleged scheme spanned multiple cities before investigators used modern technology to track down the suspect. The suspect, Jason Brauner, didn’t break windows or pick locks. Instead, he allegedly  walked into the hospitals  wearing blue scrubs and a surgical mask to access restricted areas without raising suspicion, reports  NBC Los Angeles. The theft spree took place over two months, with incidents reported at hospitals in Rancho Mirage, Loma Linda, and Newport Beach in June and July. SILVER SPRING, Md.— Brett Feddersen, chairman of the Security Industry Association (SIA) Drone Security Subcommittee  and vice president for strategy and government affairs at D-Fend Solutions , testified before members of Congress to discuss “increasing risks from the misuse use of drones.” Feddersen also gave “legislative recommendations for implementing a clear and comprehensive framework for the use of counter-drone technologies and operations across the United States,” according to the SIA announcement.
