ZE Government Solutions Announces SBIR Phase II Award From U.S. Air Force

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. – ZE Government Solutions (ZEGS) has been selected by AFWERX for a SBIR Phase II contract in the amount of $1,247,962 focused on coastal security and awareness to address the most pressing challenges in the Department of the Air Force (DAF). The ZE Coastal Alert System (Z-CAS) solution “will be digital, portable and self-sustaining designed to protect valuable USAF assets on Joint Base Charleston to include the $7.5 billion in base property and capital assets spread across three seaports, two civilian- military airfields, 39 miles of rail and 22 miles of coastline,” the announcement says. Deploying the ZeroEyes solution with lightweight, portable platforms equipped with state-of-the-art radars, artificial intelligence for threat identification, and an aggregation platform for critical C2 operations will leave forces stronger equipped for future challenges. Florida ECC Goes Live With TMA’s Automated Secure Alarm Protocol

McLEAN, Va. – The Palm Beach County, Fla., Sheriff’s Office became the 144 th emergency communications center (ECC) in the United States and the 11 th ECC in Florida to implement The Monitoring Association ( TMA )’s Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP) . Launched in 2011 as a public-private partnership, TMA’s ASAP service is “designed to increase the accuracy and efficiency of calls for service from alarm monitoring centers to emergency communication centers (ECCs),” according to the association. Palm Beach County went live the week of May 13, 2024, with the following alarm companies: Rapid Response Monitoring; ADT; Affiliated Monitoring; Alert 360; Brinks Home Security; Dynamark Monitoring; Guardian Protection; National Monitoring Center; Protection One/Everon; Securitas; Security Central; Tyco (Johnson Controls); United Central Control; Vector Security; and Vivint. Not long ago, I got a call from one of our readers. This caller had just one question, and it was a doozy: Why don’t you write a column featuring an interview with you? Since it was months ago that I received the call, suffice it to say that it’s been on my mind for a while. Pye-Barker Fire & Safety Acquires Southern Burglar and Fire Alarm Co.

ATLANTA — Pye-Barker Fire & Safety has acquired 99-year-old security solutions provider Southern Burglar and Fire Alarm Co., expanding its operations across the southern U.S., according to a joint announcement. The companies expressed excitement that the acquisition will allow them to provide expanded services to existing customers through the partnership.
